I was thinking about the main reason I wanted to join H.E.L.P foundation. So here was my answer!
Pakistan has faced many problems like poverty, citizens with lack of education, clashes between governments, with rising drug abuse and lack of jobs. I wanted to be a part of HELP because of its vision to improve the living conditions in Pakistan by employment facilities, education for kids which would provide a better future for them. The best part of HELP is the awareness campaigns that address social and issues of national interest, something Pakistanis are not aware off. Through my art I would like to bring HELP’s message spread throughout the country. I have always wanted to do something that would help others here is my chance to work with H.E.L.P and make Pakistan and its citizens better.
I am currently building a website for a new organization in Pakistan founded by the YOUTH !
It will launch on MAY 9th with the ALBUM LAUNCH SHOW of AKASH in Lahore, Pakistan
A little about them:
Vision:
HELP is an initiative by the youth, a team, a vision and a dream, which aims to take a practical approach in dealing with some of the problems facing Pakistan today. We hope to help educate, employ and empower the youth so that they can stand on there own feet and also instil a religious and patriotic spirit amongst these people so that they know there responsibility towards the masses.
Pakistan a country created with dreams, hope and optimism unfortunately seems to have lost its way in the worst ways possible. High rates of unemployment and inflation, increasing drug abuse and armed violence, dipping patriotic spirit and falling morality are just a few of the major problems faced today. Nor any government, organization or individual can create an instant cure for these ailments. However, it is the job of every citizen of Pakistan to try to make a difference. We, the people of Pakistan in general and the youth in particular, need to come forward and contribute in every way possible to the prosperity of this great country. We need to come forward and HELP.
We often see many wrong things around us but ignore them or leave them to others to solve. It is time that we changed our attitudes and became more responsible. It is time we acknowledged the fact that without us trying we can never change the situation we are facing today and it is time that we understand that if we do not try to help those in need we will be answerable to god in the worst way possible. We do not think we can change a lot at once but we can bring positive changes to the society. We cannot brig revolutions but positive evolution is possible.
HELP is all about making a difference ourselves. The only way that can change the things is by changing ourselves first. Because it’s said that “Charity begins at home” Together we can help make a difference. Together we can, together we will.
This year I had THE most boring new years eve EVER. If this is how houston will be maybe I shouldnt have moved. Since we moved to houston, Tx in July of 2007, I have been bored and lonely with nothing to do and no friends to hang out with.
I remember the days I use to chill out after school in college and high school, miss the good old days
When will the day arrive? when I actually start liking this place.
So these days I have been reading alot surprisingly. But have you ever thrown away perfectly good food that you did not want to eat? Imagine how many people would not sleep in hunger if that food was donated to a helpless beggar on the street. There are places around the world where food and water are scarce and those conditions are unbearable and truely very sad. So I decided to make something with the concept : POVERTY
I would also like to share a quote:
If the misery of the poor be caused not by the laws of nature, but by our institutions, great is our sin.
Well as you all know the terrible political situations going in Pakistan. With the emergency in place, no political rallies can take place.. which is a good thing right? well why do politicians in USA think we should remove the emergency and give freedom to the press (ARY and GEO). If musharaf removes this emergency, usa doesnt understand how many people can die from the violence that will arise. Perhaps they dont remember what happen when Benazir Bhutto came back to Pakistan, from her exile, many innocent lives were lost.
In my opinion, what musharaf has done showed alot of courage, not removing the emergency although he faced pressure from all the major countries.
